LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

Cambridge Residence

The masterplan for the renovation of this home on a large urban lot included a Beech hedge along the street, a Birch grove running the length of the driveway, large play lawn for the children, parking court and enclosed garden area. Hedging and stonewalls convey a sense of strong line and spatial ordering throughout the site. Cut granite retaining walls have been used to create a plinth for the house and barn area, providing necessary grade transitions and an improved relationship of scale between the house and lawn area.
